Large modern white carrara marble sculpture by Italian artist F. Alfo, signed 1992. This sculpture reflects a modern interpretation of the 'Yin and Yang' philosophy. Yin and yang is a concept that originated in Chinese philosophy, describing an opposite but interconnected, self-perpetuating cycle. In Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself out of a primary chaos of material energy, organized into the cycles of yin and yang and formed into objects and lives.
